UCF is College Football Royalty (Test)

As you may have heard, University of Central Florida went undefeated in football this year, recently beating Auburn in the Peach Bowl, sparking quite the controversy among sports fans, talk show hosts, and writers alike. However there is one man who doesn’t think there is any controversy, and it ain’t Nick Saban. Danny White, the UCF AD, has just gone ahead and decided that they are the national champs, and they don’t really care what the all-mighty NCAA thinks. In a series of tweets responding to fans, White has declared that they are putting up a banner, having a parade, giving the coaches a national championship bonus, and ordering all kind of championship merch.

Ok so if we forget about the bonuses going to the coaches, (which is just a wild move. Can you imagine giving your smoke show ex-girlfriend some of your stuff as she leaves you for a better looking dude? Just like, here, you deserve this extra stuff for being the hottest person that will ever date me.) I like the move. Declaring yourself king is such a ballsy move that you have to respect it. What UCF is doing is what Nellie did in that one episode of the Office in those late seasons that we all try to forget about. She just went and sat in Andy’s chair, said she was the boss, and spent her entire time trying to convince everyone that she was a better boss. Sound familiar? You betcha. We are the rest of the office, and UCF is trying to show us that we like them more than the old boss. I also love the precedent this sets. While y’all are arguing about an 8 team playoff, I’m arguing to get teams to start deciding their own fate. UCF is the national champion, so not to be out-done, Lane Kiffin should declare FAU state champion. Print the shirts. Now we have a brand new set of debates, like how can you be the national champion, without being the champion of your own state? Jim Harbaugh just declared that they have the number 1 pick, so they get first choice of recruit. Anarchy reigns, with championships being split 37 ways. Now this is my kind of sport. College football is king.
